"To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance."

                                                                                           - Oscar Wilde

Although there has been progress in terms of awareness and acceptance of gay, lesbian, and bi people, there are still many challenges faced by members of this community. And for transgender individuals, the challenges continue to be even more daunting.

For many LGBTQ people, there is a history of having to hide one's true self for fear of rejection, isolation, job loss, violence and even death. Secrecy and rejection breed hurt and shame, and these emotions can make it harder to reach out and stay connected to others. They can also make self-acceptance a challenge.

I have many years of experience working with individuals, couples and groups in the LGBTQ community. If you are interested in working on issues pertaining to sexual orientation or gender identity, please call me at 703-532-2424.
